Although it's among the greatest man-made disasters to ever happen, Chernobyl remains a point of morbid curiosity to many, which should be satisfied by this five-part limited series that will serve as a dramatisation of the disaster, as well as the events leading up to it and what came after.

It will look at not only the incident itself, but the men and women who sacrificed their lives to save Europe from further catastrophe, and the people charged with looking into what happened.

The cast includes Jared Harris, who'll play a scientist investigating it, Stellan Skarsgård, who leads the government commission on Chernobyl, and Emily Watson, a nuclear physicist committed to solving the scientific mystery of what led to the disaster, even if it puts her life at risk.
