9. Gwendoline Christie - Brienne (In Season Two)

This one only applies to season two, which was the first season Brienne of Tarth appeared in.

Brienne is a wonderful character, but Gwendoline Christie was terrible in her first few episodes and never seemed sure of herself at all, while virtually of her line readings, even her reaction to Renly Baratheon's (who Brienne was serving) death, were very wooden.

At the time, it really did feel like she'd only been cast because of her height and not because of her acting chops, but at least this case had a happy ending.

In fact, from as early as the next season, Gwendoline Christie got much better as Brienne and seemed far more comfortable in the role, so good on her.
