NBC made its name as being the home of the best sitcoms on television, from pop-cultural juggernaut Friends to The Office (US), via 30 Rock and Scrubs. Now, however, its becoming more known for cancelling them, or not backing them at all. People Are Talking is the only new sitcom the network has committed to for its fall schedule, so the pressure is on for it to deliver. The plot is based around two sets of couples who live next door to each other, and also happen to be best friends, who analyse and obsess over everything from sex and race, to whether or not the new babysitter is a porn star.
