5. Jennifer Ehle Was Initially Cast As Catelyn Stark

In August 2009, it was initially announced that Pride & Prejudice star Jennifer Ehle would play Catelyn Stark in the Game Of Thrones pilot, and while she filmed her role, when HBO ordered it to series, she was replaced by Northern Irish actress Michelle Fairley. According to the reports of her removal from the cast, Ehle gave up the role for personal reasons. As a result a good deal of the pilot was reshot, with Fairley replacing Ehle in all of Cateyln's scenes. Was It A Good Change? Both actresses are extremely talented, so it's hard to say. What is clear, however, is that Ehle's performance in the pilot was well-received before she was edited out.
