20 Actors Who Have Appeared In Both Classic And New Doctor Who

Some may remember that Nicholas Courtney did not play his most famous character in his first Doctor Who episodes. During the First Doctor's run, he appeared in the (largely missing) serial The Daleks' Master Plan as Space Security Service Agent Bret Vyon. Due to a campaign of misinformation, Vyon is later murdered by his sister, fellow SSS Agent Sara Kingdom, who then goes on to work with the Doctor. Brigadier Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart first appeared on our screens as a Colonel in the Second Doctor adventure The Web of Fear (1968), wherein they battled the Yeti. For a long time, this serial was missing, but in 2013 most of the footage was discovered in Nigeria. Only the third episode remains without proper video, though the audio survives. From there, the Colonel earned himself a promotion and he went on to fight all kinds of beasts and aliens alongside the Third, Fourth, Fifth, and Seventh Doctors, and he also appeared in The Five Doctors special. His last appearance as the Brig, however, came in 2008 with The Sarah Jane Adventures episode Enemy of the Bane. The spin off was also useful for bringing back another former UNIT employee...
