20 Animated TV Shows That Are Practically Flawless

13. Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!

X-Men Animated Series
Hanna-Barbera

Scooby-Doo has had many iterations over the years, but as is often the case, the first is still the best. Airing between 1969 and 1978 for three seasons and over forty episodes, Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! still feels fresh and alive to this day.

A twisting detective story as well as a child-friendly comedy with plenty of comedy and genuine scares, the show's slapstick humour, rich and mismatched characters, and procedural execution made it a tough show to resist for adults and kids alike -- not just while it was running, either, but for years and years to come.

Silly and easily digestible, Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! set the standard for the myriad of Scooby-Doo stories to come, but the adventures of its eponymous dog, Shaggy, Fred, Daphne and Velma were never better than they were right here.
