20 Animated TV Shows That Are Practically Flawless

Over twenty seasons and nearly 400 episodes in, Family Guy is very much The Simpsons 2.0, airing past its prime but still managing to rope in viewers and tell fresh stories with its eclectic mix of oddball characters.

A brilliant satire of American culture, the series follows the Griffin Family -- including father Peter, mother Lois, kids Meg, Chris and Stewie, and talking dog Brian -- as they navigate their day-to-day hiccups with heaps of irreverent humour and a brilliant use of fantastical plot devices.

Created by Seth MacFarlane, who also stars alongside Seth Green, Mila Kunis and Alex Bornstein, Family Guy has been a beloved TV staple for over two decades at this point, and though it feels stretched, it still knows how to deliver the goods.

It's also worth checking out its spin-off show, The Cleveland Show; though not nearly as good, it makes for a refreshing series set in the same universe.
