5. Death By Dalek, Part Three (Genesis Of The Daleks)
The final murderous act from the Daleks on this list features in Terry Nation's 1975 game changer, which ushered in the bonkers and bunkered scientist/nemesis inventor Davros. His experiments, that fused genetic aberrations and military hardware, saw the Doctor's mortal foe brought into being. Tom Baker's incarnation witnessed the genesis first hand after being sent unwillingly to Skaro by the Time Lords. Davros' team of boffins didn't exactly welcome this development with open arms. Indeed, Ronson (James Garbutt) aided Baker's escape from Kaled clutches, though he underestimated his superior. Despite having one eye, the warped genius had ears everywhere and Ronson became the very first victim of an extermination. Dalek deaths are always hit and miss affairs, depending on how good the actor is at throwing their arms around and moaning. But Garbutt made a pretty decent fist of it after being abandoned by his fellows to an irradiated fate. He was a pioneer in his field to the last, and a reluctant innovator when it came to his departure.
