20 Best South Park Episodes Ever

17. Big Gay Al's Big Gay Boat Ride (Season 1, Episode 4)

South Park Trapped In The Closet
Comedy Central

An Emmy-nominated classic that broke ground with its open exploration of homosexuality through Stan's new dog Sparky, having to endure rampant homophobia all while the boys try to wrap their brain around a concept totally alien to them.

The cornerpiece of the episode, of course, is the flamboyant Big Gay Al and his Big Gay Animal Sanctuary, ensuring Stone and Parker mock gay stereotypes all while striving to generate greater understanding.

This was the first ever South Park episode to brooch a social issue in a significant way, and set the tone for the series moving forward.

Best Moment: Sparky being voiced by George Clooney despite saying nothing and mostly just barking. Yep.
