We can't spotlight the likes of Malcolm in the Middle’s darker spin on the family sitcom without paying homage to this dark deconstruction of the hang out sitcom, a show which takes the legacy of Friends and offers it a hit from a filthy crack pipe before bashing it on the head and stealing its wallet.

Meaner, darker, and more anarchically hilarious than the “a group of mates have all manner of wacky schemes” hits which preceded it, this long running series is a spiritual follow on from Jerry Seinfeld’s self-titled classic nineties sitcom, upping the cruelty and callous stupidity of the ostensible heroes whilst always daring us at home to laugh at their misfortune—and, you know, the horrible misfortunes they cause others.

Fun!
