11. As We See It
Another hit for Amazon Prime, Jason Katims's poignant comedy-drama As We See It paints a wonderfully honest portrait of three roommates whose autism gives them another hurdle to overcome as they enter adulthood.
But this isn't tokenism, mind: Each character is played by an actor with ASD, and due to the show's sharp writing all emerge as fully-realised people who are never once played for a stereotype. Instead, they're funny, sweet, and authentically themselves, which leads to heaps of hilarity and a few bursts of heartbreak.
As We See It is the kind of rare sitcom that is at once witty and instantly fully formed, but also touchingly candid and authentic, using its charming cast to bring the laughter and the tears in equal measure. Like Jack, Harrison, and Violet, As We See It is truly one of a kind.
