20 Best TV Shows Of The Last Decade

Directing siblings, the Duffer brothers, were barely a blip on the horror scene in 2017, then they suddenly emerged with a mysterious Netflix genre show that became the must-watch program of that year.

Thrills, chills and bucketloads of 80s nostalgia were the recipes of the day for the first season, as the duo painstakingly replicated a hodgepodge of 1980s pulp, from gooey Lovecraftian monsters to Amblin adventure whimsy. The look and feel were spot-on, however, that would have all been flash if it wasn't for the fantastic and believable characters at its centre.

Some solid acting, binge-worthy twist and an exciting aesthetic all made the initial season a winner. The sophomore one was, well…fine. In all fairness, judged in retrospect it was a decent continuation of the plot, although it didn't do much to move things forward.

The show however recently delivered a stellar third session blending Body Snatchers, Red Dawn and John Hughes in a glorious, and refreshing genre mix.

It was a welcome shake-up to the formula and brought this one-of-a-kind title back to the top with anticipation skyrocketing for where it can go next.
