House of Cards made a something of a return to form in Season 4, which saw the Underwoods facing off against essentially a younger version of themselves in the battle for the White House.

Alongside Frank getting shot, Claire taking a bigger role as his running mate, and that final twist, things are nicely setup to go even bigger and better in Season 5 (even if it'll struggle to match the madness of real life US politics).

As Season 4 saw the campaign hotting up, Season 5 should bring us the final stages; the last bits of mudslinging, election day itself, and then, if it's anything like reality, the dawning of a terrifying new era led by a total demagogue.

It'd be a big surprise if Underwood were to lose to Conway at this stage, because then the show might not have much else to do (although since there are rumours of Season 5 being the last, maybe this wouldn't be an issue). Still, I'm rooting for whatever scenario brings us President Claire Underwood.
