11. The Series Has Been Banned From Mainstream TV In China

Doctor Who Deep Breath Madame Vastra Jenny Kiss Gif Because the world just isn't ready for lesbian lizard kisses, apparently. It is controversial storylines such as the suggestive 'oxygen transfer' between Madame Vastra and Jenny Flint - from last year's Series 8 premiere episode - that has been putting Doctor Who on the map (and in some territories, even off it!) for all the wrong reasons. Everybody's favourite sci-fi show has been effectively banned from airing on TV in China where it's been deemed too inappropriate for mainstream audiences due to its suggestive time altering plots. No... Seriously. Meanwhile, that kiss from Deep Breath was cut completely when the episode aired in Hong Kong, South Korea and Indonesia as a result of their strict decency standards. In that case, they'd better stay away from the fan fiction, too...
