As always though, sanctuary is short lived for Grimes and co as things turn sour after an encounter with the last remaining scientist of the facility.

Despite the lack of zombies, this is the first time there is any concrete information about the outbreak, something that creator Robert Kirkman has since regretted unveiling so early on in the shows run. Whether you agree or not though, it's safe to say that the explosive finale was one of the shows most downbeat yet satisfying finales aired to date.
