20 Hilarious Friends Spin-Offs (That Never Existed)

10. The One With The Love Machine

Friends Promo 4
NBC

Originally agreeing to appear on Friends for free after losing a bet with Matthew Perry on the set of The Whole Nine Yards, Bruce Willis initially played to type as the alpha male, intimidating Paul Stevens, father to Ross’ new young girlfriend.

That changed when Paul started seeing Rachel and finally learned to let his emotions show. Willis revelled in finding his comic chops again, playing a man crumbling like wet cake under the onslaught of forty-odd years of real feelings.

In The Love Machine, Paul is single and looking for Miss Right - but the emotional floodgates opened by his experience with Rachel have caused him to need therapy, and he finds he’s developed a twitch when feeling anxious which develops into a full blown spasm if anyone mentions the words ‘chicken’ or ‘surfboard’.
