20 Most Important TV Deaths This Decade

10. Lori Grimes - The Walking Dead (Season 3, Episode 4)

Lori was hardly the most likeable character in The Walking Dead, but her demise early on in season three is still a monumental moment in the show's history. As Lori and others try to evade the walkers, the anxiety of such causes her to go into early labour, at which point it is decided that she needs to have a cesarean in order to save the baby. However, the shock is too much for Lori's body, and she dies after being cut open and giving birth to Judith. That's not the end for Lori, though. Carl smartly realises that Lori will reanimate, so shoots her in the head. And that's not all, either: in the subsequent episode, Rick finds that a walker with a fat, distended stomach has eaten most if not all of Lori's remains, causing him to naturally go completely apes***. While this is traumatic enough in of itself, Rick continues to have hallucinations and visions of Lori for a considerable time after her death.
