20 Mind-Blowing Facts You Never Knew About The Big Bang Theory

9. It€™s All Instrumental

As well as all being intelligent and geeky, the characters on TBBT are a musical bunch from time to time. Of the now expanded group, three of them can actually play instruments. Sheldon plays the noisy and quite frankly annoying Theremin, Leonard plays the cello after being encouraged to take it up by his parents, something he used to get into the pants of Leslie Winkle, and Amy plays the harp, which we have of course seen her playing alongside a very bored Sheldon. What you don€™t probably know is that the actors aren€™t pretending to play. Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki and Mayim Bialik can all genuinely play their character€™s instruments. Galecki has been a cellist from a young age, but the other two learned their instruments for the sake of the show, although Jim Parsons has said that his inability brought him to tears. As a side note, Galecki also plays the piano, so expect that trick to turn up at some point too.
