20 More TV Acting Performances That Are Totally Flawless
6. Kristen Bell - The Good Place
One of the most accomplished TV stars of her generation, Kristen Bell's most iconic character will always be cult favourite P.I Veronica Mars, but her best performance came much more recently in the daring philosophical dramedy The Good Place.
Created by TV mastermind Michael Schur (Parks and Rec, The Office, Brooklyn Nine-Nine), The Good Place weaves an intricate and deeply moving story around the concept of the afterlife and what it takes to be a good person, and Bell sits front and centre for the ride as flawed protagonist Eleanor Shellstrop.
Not only is Eleanor the glue holding the show together, making its challenging themes all the more affecting, but Bell's performance is every bit as necessary to the show as her character's startling development.
Simultaneously selfish, crass and sarcastic, Bell makes sure that Eleanor is also sweet, honest and loyal as the show goes on, following her as she grows from flawed, objectively bad person to a literal saviour of the universe. It's forking divine.
