20 Most Bizarre Moments In Doctor Who History

5. Clara Takes A Vote By Glancing Briefly At Lights On Earth

Because That's Not Stupid At All! So many things in Kill The Moon are bizarre-in-a-bad-way due to wild scientific inaccuracies that it's hard to know where to start. How about with how Clara makes her decision about whether to kill the giant space chicken inside the Moon before it hatches? (Now there's a sentence that doesn't get written very often!) After outlining her dilemma to the authorities back on Earth, Clara decides to take a vote on what to do by counting the number of lights left on. Let's ignore how she can't possibly see all of the countries in the world and instead focus on how cloud cover, people not being at home, and less developed countries not even having reliable, comprehensive electricity coverage might affect the fairness of her referendum. It's just as well she didn't even stick to the result, really.
