20 Most Bizarre Moments In Doctor Who History

4. And Why Exactly Was Ace Carrying A Baseball Bat Around?

Remembrance of the Daleks is an almost perfect Doctor Who story. Nothing can spoil it, except for someone asking a niggling, petty-sounding question which hasn't occurred to most fans ever. Just why was Ace wandering around with a baseball bat in her backpack? Yes, it's there to later get turned into a superweapon by the Hand of Omega, but let's ignore the plot reason for its existence and ask, instead, why Ace would choose to shove it in her rucksack and leave the TARDIS with it in the first place. There isn't a good reason, is there? After all, it's not as if she's on her way to a quick softball game in the park. Now go and watch the story again and see if that baseball bat doesn't seem just a little bizarre now.
