16. The Horror When Your Favourite Character Dies
Its all too common in soaps that the moment you fall for someone, theyre doomed to a bloody death. Soaps have been doing this way before Game of Thrones cashed in on total emotional devastation, but its never dulled the pain. If a character is popular or has been in the show for a few years, the likelihood of their murder increases about tenfold. If theres a serial killer in town (which happens troublingly often) then its a fact that nobody is safe, not even your backup favourite who you thought would be OK if your actual favourite got killed off.
