20 Worst Doctor Who Episodes Ever

8. Journey To The Centre Of The TARDIS

Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS was Steven Moffat's attempt to make up for the mistakes made by The Invasion of Time.

But crucially, he and the episode's writer Steve Thompson forgot that while it may have revealed the inside of the TARDIS to be a Victorian hospital (for some reason), The Invasion of Time at least had a compelling story.

Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS has no such story, and is a fairly vapid tale of some alien scrap merchant brothers.

Instead of being a compelling piece of drama, the episode feels like a paper thin premise for a TARDIS escape room or VR simulation, without any interactivity or engagement for its audience. A missed opportunity if ever there was one.
