20 Worst Doctor Who Episodes Ever

5. In The Forest Of The Night

In the Forest of the Night has a strong image at its core, with the urban sprawl of London covered under sheets of greenery. But that's all it has going for it.

From a cast predominantly made of child actors to the fact that nobody expects Earth to be obliterated three weeks before the finale, In the Forest of the Night is a clanger of a Doctor Who story.

And oh boy, that resolution. Okay so, the trees save us, they shield us from the devastating solar flares, and ask for nothing in return. And then, instead of suggesting that we learn from this on-the-nose message about the dangers of deforestation, the Doctor glibly tells Clara everyone will forget all about it?

So yes, as Doctor Who eco-parables go, In the Forest of the Night IS worse than Orphan 55. And don't get us started on that girl hiding in a hedge at the end.
