20 Worst Doctor Who Episodes Ever
16. Space Babies
Whatever the truth of the concerns about Doctor Who's ratings on Disney+, Space Babies can't have helped matters. Quite why Russell T Davies launched his bold new era of Doctor Who from inside a manky old space station staffed by talking babies is anyone's guess.
It's got "mid-season filler" written all over it, and yet it was chosen to launch a reduced season of Doctor Who. If Space Babies had been episode seven in a ten-episode season, we'd perhaps all look on it a bit more favourably.
But compare this to some of our recent series openers – The Halloween Apocalypse or Spyfall or The Pilot. Against those, Space Babies feels incredibly regressive, which isn't a great look for Doctor Who's Disney+ era.
