Star Trek The Original Series Balance Of Terror Barbara Baldavin

Barbara Baldavin appeared in four episodes of The Original Series - Balance Of Terror, Shore Leave, Space Seed (though her scenes were cut) and Turnabout Intruder. Technically, because of the cut scene, she was a different character in each episode, although no one told William Shatner!

For Shore Leave, Baldavin was cast as 'Teller', though when filming began, the crew realised that she had appeared as Angela Martine in Balance Of Terror. With that role having been as significant as it was - she was to be married before the Romulan attack - her character was quickly switched to Angela in the latter episode. Shatner, however, still calls her Teller on-screen, while the closing credits call her Angela.

She would then appear as Lt. Lisa in the show's finale. At this point in her career, she was acting while married to Joseph D'Agosta, who was in charge of casting for Star Trek. She would switch to casting as a career in the following years, where she was responsible for such series as Dynasty.

Baldavin was 85 years old when she died.
