21 TV Shows With Iconic Theme Songs

8. The Muppet Show

Series Debut: 1976 The Muppet Show is something unique in television history, a prime-time variety show hosted by "muppets" and featuring big name human celebrity guests. The series initially failed to catch on in the US, and was instead produced for ATV in the UK. The song was composed by series creator Jim Henson and Sesame Street musical director Sam Pottle in 1976, with reworked lyrics for every season of the show. The tune became iconic, though Pottle, who passed away just two years later in 1978, would not live to see how beloved the song would become. The well-received 2011 Muppets film with Jason Segel of course featured the song, and reminded us all just how much fun The Muppets really are. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EJ9yAV8uQ7g
