25 Best Superhero TV Shows Of All Time

20. The Boys

Arrow Season 1
Amazon Studios

The fact that The Boys hasn't long debuted and it still found its way onto this list is a testament to just how great it is.

Based upon the Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson comic, this wildly off-the-wall series exploded onto Amazon Prime last summer, and it's more than safe to say it left a lasting impression. Yes, The Boys is a unique offering (to say the least), centering on a world in which heroes are little more than lucrative commodities to be exploited by rich corporations, it delves into the lives of those behind the costumes, highlighting how the majority of them are corrupt. And its up to the titular group of heroes (as well as the Seven) to keep their counterparts in-line.

An outrageous series by every stretch of the imagination, The Boys is a violent, ridiculous, hilarious and oddly compelling specimen that shocks just because it can and yet strikes a chord with those watching.

It certainly isn't for everyone, but it is one of the most coherent and compelling superhero shows on TV today, and that makes it worth your time.
