16. The Simpsons

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xqog63KOANc Finally, a TV show which I am very familiar with and a show in which I would be shocked if I found out there was an episode of this I hadn't yet seen. Arguably the greatest TV series of all time, and perhaps with the exceptions of one or two shows in which I am a major fan-boy, my personal favorite- I certainly wouldn't argue against anyone who claims this is the best. Because of this, and because the theme tune is instantly recognizable- perhaps even the most recognizable theme tune on this list- I couldn't not exclude this. However, I am more fond of themes tunes with lyrics, and because there is only two words sung in this entire song, this theme tune only features at 16th place.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MVonyVSQoM Though I haven't seen this show (or even plan to see this show ever) and I still haven't even seen the recent movie I am of course very familiar with this theme tune. To me, this theme tune sums up everything I associate with the 80's in one classic tune- and because I wasn't even born in the 80's I take all my knowledge of what the 80's must have been like from Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone ultra-macho action movies. This tune is super "manly" and appropriately epic, and if I had a problem and no one else could help and if I could find them (and after listening to this theme tune) I'd certainly want to hire the A Team.
