28 Doctor Who Actors Who Died In 2022

12. Jeremy Young

Doctor Who Jeremy Young An Unearthly Child Kal

Born John H. Young in Liverpool in 1934, Jeremy Young appeared in two Doctor Who stories. First, he appeared as Kal in the very first Doctor Who serial An Unearthly Child. He would return to the franchise in the story Mission To The Unknown, in which he played Gordon Lowery. That story is unique in the classic era in that it was only episode long, and didn't feature The Doctor or any of their companions.

Young would be active in theatre throughout his career, having got his start in the Birmingham Repertory Theatre in 1959. Through cosmic coincidence, having played the first villain in Doctor Who, he would go on to marry the First Rani as well - Kate O'Mara.

His career would span decades, appearing in many television projects along the way. He died on April 9th. He was 88.
