Long before he was known to Walking Dead fans as the fatherly Herschel, Scott Wilson turned up on The X-Files playing another "father" figure, the Reverend Orison in season seven's Orison, which featured the return of the fan favourite death fetishist and all-around creeper Donnie Pfaster. While Pfaster was again the star of the show, it's Orison who actually sets events in motion, helping him escape from prison - in order to execute him, which the Reverend believes is God's will. Of course, that goes horribly wrong, Pfaster escapes, and the Reverend eventually winds up dead. It seems Scott Wilson doesn't have much luck in genre fare.
