31 Upcoming Comic Book TV Shows You Have To See

23. Krypton

Status: This series has an order from SyFy. Ian Goldberg and David S. Goyer are executive-producing it at DC Entertainment. Pitch: Years before Superman was born, the House of El was shamed and ostracized. Superman's grandfather will bring hope and equality to the planet. Odds of Success Onscreen: Average. Making it about Superman's grandfather at least avoids the obvious question: "Will the series finale involve everyone on this show exploding?" Goyer's Man Of Steel was more successful than some want to admit and the last Superman TV show sure did all right. Still, it's a curious choice to begin before your world's best-loved character is even conceived. The best-case scenario is that this will be a sci-fi series of its own with only a few tenuous connections to the Superman you know.
