Status: Fox is "eyeing" an X-Men project, but complex rights issues with Marvel means it can't do one based directly on the comics. Spin-off series concepts like X-Factor and the New Mutants have been mentioned, but, again, Fox can't base a series directly on those comics either. Pitch: Who knows? Odds of Success Onscreen: It may seem counterintuitive to rank the X-Men so low, but unless Fox and Marvel can work out a deal to include some comics-inspired content, Fox will be operating at a serious disadvantage against all the X-Men movies and TV shows of the last 20 years that viewers could watch instead.
