4 Ups & 2 Downs From Doctor Who Series 12 - Nikola Tesla's Night Of Terror

Ups...

4. Period Costume Finally Arrives For The Companions

Doctor Who Series 12 Companions
BBC

Something sorely missing from the historical settings of series 11 was the use of period costume. Going backwards (or even forwards) in time should lead to the companions, and occasionally The Doctor, kitting themselves out in timely garb so they don't stand out. As said, this doesn't always apply to The Doctor, this week she simply changes the colour of her t-shirt (something Eccleston's Doctor did with his jumpers), while Graham, Yaz, and Ryan were all dressed up in period attire.

It's not something that would make or break a story, but it's a huge positive to see. It makes the whole 'back in time' setting feel all the more real when we see the modern characters we know try and blend in. The fact that Team TARDIS made no effort in last series' Rosa and Demons of the Punjab made Graham wearing a bowler hat and three-piece suit all the more welcome.

Born in Theatre, sits at a Computer. After over a decade of tinkering with Video Editing software, Rich gets to spend his precious time editing whatever's thrown at him. Also the go-to for Doctor Who, and could tell you why Sans Serif fonts are better than most. Still occasionally tap dances under the desk.
