5 Classic Doctor Who Scenes The Timeless Children Fundamentally Changed
3. Remembrance Of The Daleks
'Remembrance Of The Daleks' saw the search for the Hand Of Omega, which was used to manipulate the black holes and supernovas so that the Time Lords could harness energy from them. Somehow, The Doctor had the device shortly before 'An Unearthly Child', and he'd hidden it before leaving.
During a conversation with Ace, his companion at that time, he slips up and admits that he participated in the creation of the Hand. Now we know that The Doctor was definitely around during that time, but how is it possible that he remembers it at this time?
Russell T Davies once claimed that 'Remembrance of the Daleks' marks the first shot in what would become the Time War, and it's not hard to see why. The Doctor allows the Daleks to take the Hand, having set it up to destroy their home planet of Skaro.
As the Time Lords value non-intervention, it's likely that The Doctor was working with The Division again at this time. If so, they would have allowed him access to his redacted knowledge concerning the Hand Of Omega to help him use it against the Daleks, perhaps unknowingly unlocking the memory of its origins within him for the duration of the mission.
