2. The Mara

An alien parasite in the form of a giant snake, the Mara was twice featured in Peter Davison's era.

It was a terrifying concept at the time: a being of pure hatred that was able to possess its victims and feed on the fear of peaceful civilisations. The monster took over the Doctor’s companion Tegan on two occasions, with excellent performances from Janet Fielding on both counts, as she grappled with the Mara in her mind.

Who wouldn't like to see thirteen go up against this creature again, especially if it takes over one of Team Tardis? With some fans theorising something’s not quite right with Yaz in the latest series, maybe she could be a strong contender as the companion to be seduced to oppose the Doctor?
