5 Doctor Who Writers Who Should Return For Series 9 (Plus 5 New Ones)
3. Jane Espenson
Jane Espenson's five year-stint as a writer and producer on Buffy the Vampire Slayer has put her in good stead to join the prestigious line up of Doctor Who contributors. She has previously played a part in the extended Doctor Who universe as a chief writer on the fourth series of Torchwood, Miracle Day, back in 2011. While the series proved to be somewhat of a flop, Jane's episodes are widely regarded to have been the best of the bunch with her scripts turning out to be the saving grace of an otherwise mediocre series. Her other writing credits include Battlestar Galactica and Once Upon a Time, so she's definitely earned the credentials to be promoted to the mothership. But would she be up to the task of taking on a Doctor Who adventure of her own? "Yes, of course! Who wouldn't fancy that?!" J.K. Rowling, apparently.
