5 Reasons Marvel Comics Are Failing
1. Too many reboots
Marvel comics has been changing their numbering so many times that it's hard to tell whether we can all still count properly. Marvel Now! All-New All-Different... Marvel has announced that they are returning to their original numbering, but does it even matter any more? Now they just have a #1 on a book that's also numbered #11.
It's all terribly confusing.
Depending on the outcome of an event like the recent Secret Wars, some books will have to start over, and that just leads to even more confusion, particularly for more casual fans. Who's this new Thor? Where's the other Thor? How many Spider-Men and Spider-Women are there?
Chasing away a reader is easy when you may have gone away from the books for a little while and decide to go back only to find nothing is the same. It just takes too much commitment to try and break into the new continuum.
Marvel often boasts of their books being easy to jump right in at certain points, but how many fans will want to stay if things are going to drastically change three months later, and again the very next year?
