Dev Patel of Slumdog Millionaire and Skins fame plays Neal Sampat, one of the key regular characters in the show. Neal is a young blogger who is often mocked by the more traditional journalists for being geeky. However, it is because he is online so much that he regularly finds himself at the forefront of breaking news. His character is also used as a tension relieving device with his enthusiasm and naivety being a source of great humour for his co-workers. Every day he tries and fails to convince them that just because it is written online doesnt mean a blog cant be good journalism.
