3. Jim And Maggie
Will and Mackenzies relationship is fun to watch as their arguments and bickering compliment the lighter moments of the episodes, but the real will-they-wont-they relationship in the series is that of Jim and Maggie. Both are young rising stars of the news team. At the start of the series Maggie (Alison Pill) is in a dysfunctional relationship with an Executive Producer at the network, Don Keefer (Thomas Sadoski). Things are confused by the growing feelings new Senior Producer Jim Harper (John Gallagher, Jr.) has for her. Looking to the future it is easy to see how these relationships could run and run like Jim and Pam/Tim and Dawn from 'The Office, Josh and Donna in The West Wing and (whisper it) Ross and Rachel. It is never more than a subplot in the first series but look for it to become increasingly central in the future.
