2. Its Poor Sports Coverage
Given their lack of experience in fields other than horse racing, most of the limited sports coverage on Channel 4 is almost cringeworthy to watch. Their handling of the 2011 Worlds Athletics Championships drew a large number of complaints regarding the ineptitude of presenter Ortis Deley, whilst their recent airing of the Paralympic Games drew the ire of viewers for featuring poorly timed advert breaks and bouts of amateurish punditry. Because of this, it is perhaps a good thing that the likes of football, Formula One and rugby remain in the hands of companies that have many years of experience in covering them, with knowledgeable teams of presenters and commentators.
