2. Different Settings
Unlike on Friends and other similar shows (How I Met Your Mother, Rules Of Engagement) the characters of TBBT dont frequent a bar or coffee shop where they engage in banter and hit on the local guys and girls. Its rare to find them in a very public space: usually theyre among their fellow scientists in the university cafeteria or holed up in Sheldons apartment with a take-away and some games. When they do happen to go out, its definitely not to pick up girls. They dont even sit around and have a chat and a few laughs. No, these scenes in restaurants and bars are generally where Sheldon unleashes his personality onto society. Even the simplest things, that wouldnt be considered things in any other show, such as ordering a meal, become hilarious. And what is so great about this? Well, a different space or circumstance means that the audience get to hear different conversations and different jokes ones that havent been repeated in every sitcom going.
