5 Reasons Why The Big Bang Theory Is Better Than Friends

1. Embraces Geek Culture

geek culture One of the great things about The Big Bang Theory is that it€™s a little €˜geeky€™. The guys are forever arguing about the abilities of different comic book characters, playing a heated game of Dungeons and Dragons and watching re-runs of their favourite sci-fis. And the best bit? It€™s accessible to all. Finally things that were considered to be €˜geeky€™ and were not understood by everyone else, are now becoming mainstream. It also gives comic book, science-fiction and video game lovers a half an hour long outlet for all of their favourite things in one hit. I€™m not saying that Friends is lesser as a result of not having these elements €“ they wouldn€™t have fit into the storylines. If they had decided to include them, the show wouldn€™t have done as well as it did €“ this type of culture just wasn€™t as prominent nineteen years ago when Friends began. I€™m just saying that TBBT is pretty fantastic for having these €˜geeky€™ elements and, at least for me, it makes it the better show. Which show do you think is better and why?
