5 Things We NEED From Christopher Eccleston's Doctor Who Return

3. More Adventures With Rose And Captain Jack

Big Finish over recent years have worked with Billie Piper and John Barrowman, both bringing back their iconic characters of Rose Tyler and Captain Jack Harkness, retrospectively, many times. This is the first TARDIS team of the twenty-first century, as besides the odd few stories, a lot of the Russell T Davies era focuses on one companion.

At the end of the Doctor Dances, Captain Jack joins the Doctor and Rose in the TARDIS, but what happens next? Not a lot really. From here we only get three more episodes of this team, with Boom Town seeing the three on Earth with Mickey, and then the two-part finale, where the team spend a lot of time apart, the Doctor regenerates, and Jack is left behind. However, in Boom Town, the way the three of them interact in front of Mickey makes the TARDIS crew look like a well knitted team, rather than three people who have only just met in the previous episode.

As mentioned, there is no other cast news for these four volumes, baring Eccleston yet. But with Big Finish’s past with Piper and Barrowman, both whom have enjoyed their time in the recording booth, it is not beyond the realm of impossibility that the pair of them could return for a volume or two. This would allow more fleshing out of a TARDIS team which never really had much time together on screen but is still incredibly iconic.
