6 Reasons You Should Have Watched Netflix's Daybreak

3. The Whole Cast Is Great

In spite of its thrilling concept, intellectual use of humor and engaging story, Daybreak's best attribute may just be its strong cast and the performances that they deliver. A winning mix of film and TV veterans and up-and-comers, the show is led by Colin Ford - who, in spite of his young age of just 23, has carved out an incredibly successful career appearing in the likes of Under The Dome, We Bought A Zoo and Supernatural. And his vast experience shows here, as he's perfectly at home in the leading role and brings the oddly charismatic and 'adorkable' Josh to life.

Sophie Simnett is a strong counterpart for him as the complex Sam Dean, while Alyvia Alyn Lind, Austin Crute and Gregory Kasyan effortlessly make us laugh throughout and are essentially responsible for 90% of the show's funniest moments. And then you have the veteran Matthew Broderick, who absolutely thrives in the role of the unfortunate Principal Burr - an unlikely survivor that, thanks to Broderick's performance, is a totally believable one.

In a show with a concept this larger-than-life, it would have been easy to waste a relatively large cast like this one, and yet Daybreak never does; ensuring that every single character has a purpose (we'll get to that shortly) and thus, every single actor has a chance to shine - and believe this writer when he says that they do.

There is, however, one member of the cast who just shines that little bit brighter...
