6 Ups & 3 Downs From The Arrowverse In 2018 (So Far)

1. Legends Of Tomorrow Reigns Supreme (Again)

Legends Of Tomorrow Season 3
CW

Who would have thought that a fight scene between a giant plush doll and a time-traveling demon was the key to success? It may have been the most ludicrous sight to ever grace your screen but it also highlighted that Legends of Tomorrow can literally do no wrong. The show that started off as a means of giving the Arrowverse's secondary characters something to do has grown into the most consistent program on The CW. Not only is this incredibly ironic, it highlights just how remarkable the show actually is.

Though it had a predictably rocky start during its first season, Legends rose to new heights during Season 2. Since then, it has become the most outrageous show on television. But the beauty about this is that the show is fully aware of just how ridiculous it is... and it embraces it. It never takes itself too seriously and, as a result, neither do we. The characters could (and usually do) end up facing off against the most unorthodox threats imaginable and we would buy it, hook line and sinker.

The colourful collection of characters never fail to remind us why their blend of crazy shouldn't work, but as they prove time and again, it absolutely does. While some of the Arrowverse's newer additions haven't been handled very well on other shows, Legends is a primary example of how to introduce new characters in the correct manner. In a few episodes, Wally West got some well-earned spotlight while recurring characters like Ava Sharpe and John Constantine felt like fully-fledged members of the group.

Of all the Arrowverse's offerings, Legends of Tomorrow was the only one to tick all the right boxes in 2018. For the second year running, it outshone its fellow superheroes and reminded us why it is a force to be reckoned with. Never change Legends, never change.
