3. Spectacular Spider-man (2008-2009)

Spectacular Spider-Man was one of the more 'ordinary' Spider-Man animations that we've seen so far. The animation was very soft, and made Peter Parker almost look like a 13 year old or so. Apart from that it's animation was fairly crisp. It did quite well with fans, as younger audiences identified with Spider-Man, while older comic book readers found the iterations of villains and subtle twists of major story-lines such as Gwen Stacy's role in it all interesting. However, ultimately the show was short lived like every Marvel animation since the mid nineties. It was axed after season 2, in order to make Ultimate Spider-Man (2012). Spectacular Spider-Man was a fundamentally solid entry into Spider-Man's log of TV appearances but it's short time-span, marketing approach and appeal to younger audiences made it rather easy to miss.
