7 Reasons Why The Third Doctor Changed The Course Of Doctor Who

3. Insults

3rddocexpression No matter how much people try to help the Third Doctor, whether it be Jo or the Brigadier, he has a tendency to insult them with the most silly, or even hurtful names. We never saw the previous Doctors insult people as much as the Third Doctor did. But later on, the Fourth Doctor would certainly insult people, one being his own companion, Harry. The Fifth Doctor always had a habit of insulting people of Earth. The Third Doctor certainly paved the road of insulting people for future Doctors. But no one did it better then Jon Pertwee. Not even close. Even though he would insult those close to him, he still forgave them very quickly and still protected them as though they were his own family. Now, when witnessing the Third Doctor with the Second Doctor in the Three Doctors, we can actually see the mean streak come out in the Second Doctor when he's irritated by the Third Doctor's arrogance. And they end up insulting one another, and the bickering is so childish but yet hilarious because the Doctor is literally insulting himself.
