7 Theories on Doctor Who Series 7

6. A Long Goodbye

The Power of Three: So we see Amy and Rory jaunting off on their anniversary with The Doctor. After a failed attempt at celebration in a fancy hotel, we€™re treated to€another failed attempt at celebration. This time, in Henry VIII€™s kingdom. As Rory is keen to point out to Amy, €œYou just married Henry VIII on our anniversary". Turns out, she accidentally agreed to wedding vows and became a piece of untold history. Also, you see Rory leave the charger under the bed. But the most telling moment is when The Doctor tells Amy, €œI miss you€ and €œI€™m running to you and Rory, before you fade from me.€ The Doctor knows that Amy and Rory are away. He knows that something is going to happen. In order to cope with these events, he€™s running to them in different points in time, out of order, so he can enjoy every moment he can spare with them. Even when Rory€™s Dad asks about how his past companions have fared, he responds, "Some left me, some got left behind, and some€”not many, but€ some died. Not them, Brian. Never them." So continuing with the reverse chronology theory, The Doctor knows they won€™t die, get left behind (in the sense of Donna Noble), or leave him. Best guess? They€™re taken by The Angels and temporally displaced. (There€™s even been set reports of a scene in which Amy is running towards the Angels and River shouting for her not to.)
