7. Batwoman Begins (And Is Much Better Than Expected)

The Arrowverse family grew this year for the first time in almost three, as Batwoman joined the ranks. A show that had rubbed many people up the wrong way with its genuinely terrible first trailer, the show had a lot working against it long before it even hit our screens. However, that didn't stop it from producing a solid pilot episode and a mostly strong first half of a season.

With Ruby Rose's deliciously broody Kate Kane, some beautifully shot visuals and impressive fight scenes, Batwoman feels very different to the other shows in the Arrowverse, and it's worth watching alone just for Rachel Skarsten's incredible performance as psychotic villain Alice.

Any other year, an event such as a new show would be the biggest development that the Arrowverse experienced. This year, however, it's simply one of many...
